Founded in 1997 and established as a non-profit
company in 2000 when it received Family Resource Centre status. The Family
Resource Centre has developed a number of community-based services for the
people within the catchment area which includes Adamstown, Barronstown,
Carrigbyrne, Newbawn, Oldcourt, Clonroche, Old Ross and surrounding areas. The

Currently RCDG employs 27 staff and supported by
52 local volunteers. The Family Resource Centre strives to respond to the
ever-changing needs of rural community living. It is reliant on the community to
voice these needs and to participate in its activities.
The Raheen Family Resource Centre provides the
overall development, management and co-ordination of all the projects under RCDG
Ltd. It also provides specialist programmes to target groups in the area through
the provision of outreach and project based activities. These activities fall
under the broad headings of Youth, Elderly, Heritage, Environment, Employment,
Training & Education and Rural Development.
